Craig Barratt

Craig Barratt, Ph.D. joined the Calysta Board of Directors in 2013 and was named Board Chair in 2019. Until 2020 he was Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Connectivity Group at Intel Corporation with the acquisition of Barefoot Networks in 2019, where he served as president and CEO. Before Barefoot, Dr. Barratt held several positions at Google, including senior vice president for Access and Energy, and CEO of Access, one of the Alphabet companies. At Google, he led various businesses and technology developments related to internet access, including Google Fiber and renewable energy.

Earlier, Dr. Barratt served as president and CEO of Atheros Communications, a Wi-Fi and networking semiconductor company, through its IPO and later acquisition by Qualcomm. Post-acquisition, Dr. Barratt was president of Qualcomm Atheros, the networking and connectivity subsidiary of Qualcomm.

Dr. Barratt is a co-inventor of a number of U.S. patents in fields including wireless communications and medical imaging, and has co-authored a book on linear controller design and open-source software.

Dr. Barratt holds a bachelor’s degree in pure mathematics and physics and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, both from the University of Sydney, Australia. He also holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in electrical engineering, both from Stanford University.
