Ben Christensen

Founder/CEO at Cambium Carbon

Ben Christensen has a diverse range of work experience in various environmental and sustainability-focused roles. In 2015, they worked at Sandia National Laboratories as a Catalyst and Battery Support Technical. From 2016 to 2018, Ben founded the Climate Change Action Research Group and served as the Founder and Project Leader. Ben also worked as a Green Campus Team Member at Cal Poly Energy, Utilities, and Sustainability Department during the same period. In 2016, they became a Poly Escapes Trip Leader at Cal Poly Associated Students, Inc. From 2017 to 2018, Ben served as the Green Campus Team Manager at Cal Poly Energy Utilities and Sustainability Department. Additionally, in 2017, they were the Carbon Neutral Building Systems Research Lead at Cal Poly College of Engineering. From 2018 to 2019, Ben held multiple roles at Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, including Alumni Board Representative, Energy and Carbon Manager, and Graduate Teaching Assistant. In 2019, they also worked on the Carbon Removal Team at World Resources Institute. Finally, in 2019, Ben founded Cambium Carbon and currently serves as the Founder/CEO.

Ben Christensen completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Management and Protection at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2014 to 2018. Ben then pursued a Masters of Environmental Management in Environmental Studies at Yale School of the Environment from 2018 to 2020. In addition to their formal education, they obtained the Wilderness First Responder certification from NOLS Wilderness Medicine in December 2016.
