Kemi Akinsanya-Rose

Kemi Akinsanya-Rose has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Kemi is currently working as the Chief Operating Officer at Cambium Learning Group since November 2022. Prior to this, they founded Puravida Leadership Group in 2020, where they serve as the Founder & Owner, providing coaching and organizational development services.

From 2021 to 2022, Kemi worked at YSC Consulting as the Director - Senior Leadership Advisor. Before that, they held the positions of Chief Operating Officer & Chief Diversity Officer at EL Education, Inc. from 2019 to 2021, where they managed strategy and operations for a leading education non-profit.

Kemi's past experience also includes serving as the Chief Information Officer & General Manager at the NYC Department of Education from 2011 to 2013, and as the Deputy Chief Operating Officer from 2010 to 2011.

Kemi began their career at American Express in 1996 and held various roles, including Senior Director - Global Marketing & Communications, Director - Marketing & Product Development, Relationship Manager - Emerging Industries, Project Manager - Point of Sale Solutions, and Team Leader - Customer Servicing.

Kemi Akinsanya-Rose holds a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the Broad Center for Management Systems, which they obtained from 2010 to 2012. Kemi also has an MBA in Marketing/Strategy from The Wharton School, earned between 2001 and 2003. Additionally, they completed their undergraduate studies at Northwestern University, where they obtained a BA in Economics from 1989 to 1993. Kemi has various certifications, including being a SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) obtained in 2021 from SHRM, and a Certified integral coach obtained in 2019 from New Ventures West. Kemi Akinsanya-Rose is also a Six Sigma Black Belt holder and a member of SHRM.
