Ann Avouris

Ann Avouris has a significant amount of experience in the publishing industry, with their most recent role being as the Executive Publisher and Head of Journals, North America at Cambridge University Press since 2013. In this position, they were responsible for managing and strategically developing journal lists in the brain sciences and area studies, as well as leading the publishing presence and team in North America. Ann also played a role in transitioning the program to open access.

Prior to their time at Cambridge University Press, Avouris worked at Springer Science+Business Media from 2005 to 2013 as a Senior Editor, where they led the US Neuroscience team in book and journal development. Ann was involved in launching new journals, encyclopedias, edited series, and developing monographs.

Avouris also has experience as the Marketing Director at Academy Chicago Publishers from 2004 to 2005, where they had responsibilities in marketing and promotion.

Ann Avouris attended the University of Chicago from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations.
