Cambridge Capital Group

Cambridge Capital Group (CCG) is a private network of 60+ investors, business angels and family offices who have been investing in hi-tech businesses for more than a decade. CCG was formed in the Autumn of 2000 and has been backing tech start-ups in the region ever since. Our members have invested tens of millions of pounds into more than 70 live portfolio companies in the Cambridge technology cluster and wider 'Golden Triangle' of innovation centres. We are a growing organisation offering a platform for private investors around the world to invest in the top European technology centre. Successes include Bookham Technology and nCipher (listed on LSE), Phonetic Arts (sold to Google) and AIM listings of ITM Power, Bango and Ubisense. In 2016 our members enjoyed four exits with Swiftkey being sold to Microsoft, Cambridge CMOS Sensors being sold to Austrian Microsystems (AMS), Expedeon's merger with Sygnis AG and Oval Medical Technologies being sold to SMC. Five further exits have been achieved in 2019-20, including Cavendish Kinetics, GT Energy, Spectral Edge and Viewranger. Membership normally follows introductions by existing members and our trusted network. As well as many business angels and private investors our membership base includes several corporate members and family offices, supported by excellent sponsors: Taylor Vinters, Barclays Eagle Labs, Potter Clarkson, Signia Wealth and Bailey Fisher who fund our programme of member events.
