Trevor Bruce has a diverse work experience spanning from 2000 to 2014. Trevor started their career as a professional athlete at Alpine Canada Alpin from 2000 to 2002. Following that, they worked as a geotechnical engineer intern at BC Hydro in 2005, where they conducted slope stability studies and designed underground drilling programs. In 2006, Trevor worked as a groundwater/hydrogeology engineer intern at Piteau Associates Engineering.
Trevor then joined Knight Piesold as a hydropower engineer from 2007 to 2008. In this role, they conducted water resource energy assessments for potential hydroelectric energy projects and led site investigations for a gold/copper mine in Alaska.
From 2009 to 2013, Trevor worked at CH2M HILL as a project engineer, where they were responsible for the design and project management of mine closure, environmental remediation, and water infrastructure projects. Trevor led the design for a significant portion of the Faro Mine remediation program, the largest environmental remediation project in Canadian history.
During the same period, they also served as a youth ski coach at Caledon Ski Club, where they helped athletes achieve significant performance improvements.
In 2013, Trevor worked as an MBA business consultant at REDT, an advanced battery start-up.
In 2014, they joined Fauna & Flora International as an MBA business consultant, where they provided strategy consulting and reviewed business plans for the Oryx Impact Investment Fund.
Currently, Trevor is the co-founder and head of strategic advisory at Cambridge Energy. The company specializes in helping power-intensive industrial companies to cut energy costs and carbon emissions using their proprietary Nomad solar PV systems. The prefabricated and re-deployable Nomad systems make large-scale solar energy viable in remote areas and extend the asset's useful life, resulting in significantly lower unit costs of energy.
Trevor Bruce obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Finance, Energy and Environment from Cambridge Judge Business School from 2013 to 2014. Before that, they pursued the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program in Finance at the CFA Institute from 2010 to 2013. Prior to their finance studies, Trevor earned an Engineer's Degree in Geological Engineering with a focus on Environmental and Water from The University of British Columbia between 2002 and 2007.
