Étienne Boisseau-Sierra has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Étienne began their career in 2008 as a Refuge Keeper at Riffugio Bonatti. From 2011 to 2011, they worked as a Site Foreman at Losinger, where they supervised a section of the construction of an elderly home.

In 2012, Étienne worked as a Research Assistant at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, where they developed and programmed a small-scale model of a smart conveyor. Étienne also worked as a Product Design Engineer at DALMAS PRODUCTION SARL, where they focused on developing innovative patentable intellectual property for aircraft portholes.

Étienne then joined Toyota Motor Europe in 2013 as a Kansei Research Engineer, conducting action-research on emotional design and user experience for future cars. Étienne transitioned to Education Nationale in 2014, taking on the role of Teaching Assistant and teaching multiple topics to Bachelor and Master's students. At the same time, they served as a PhD Researcher at Arts et Métiers ParisTech - ENSAM, pioneering the mapping of emerging open-design practices.

In 2017, Étienne worked as a Graphic Web Designer in a freelance capacity, designing websites and building web apps for charities and small organizations. Étienne then joined Unipart Digital in 2018 as a Business Intelligence Architect, conducting ad-hoc data analyses and deploying Bayesian models into production. Étienne later became a Senior Data Scientist and Team Lead at the same company.

Most recently, Étienne joined Biomodal in 2023 as a Senior Software Engineer. While there is no specified end date for this role, it can be inferred that they are currently working in this position.

Étienne Boisseau-Sierra has an extensive education history. Étienne holds a L7 Apprenticeship (MSc-equivalent) in Artificial Intelligence from Cambridge Spark, obtained between the years 2000 and 2023. Prior to that, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Design Science from Arts et Métiers ParisTech - École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers, spanning from 2014 to 2017. In 2017, Étienne also completed a PhD (visiting) in Industrial and Product Design at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Before their doctoral studies, they earned a Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 2010 to 2014. During this time, they concurrently pursued a Master of Research (MRes) in Industrial and Product Design from Arts et Métiers ParisTech - École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers, completed between 2012 and 2013. Furthermore, Étienne also obtained a Diplôme d'ingénieur Arts et Métiers ParisTech in Industrial Engineering from Arts et Métiers ParisTech - École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers, spanning from 2010 to 2014. Before these higher education pursuits, Étienne Boisseau-Sierra completed their Baccalauréat franco-allemand scientifique in Mathematics from Lycée franco-allemand de Buc between 2005 and 2008.

In addition to their academic achievements, Étienne has also obtained several certifications. In 2019, they completed the Non Violent Communication Foundation Training from MIndful Communication. Étienne also holds a certification as a Gender Equality Manager (Label HF Manager) from Companieros, obtained in January 2014. Furthermore, Étienne has a BAFA (Brevet d'aptitude aux fonctions d'animateur en accueil collectif de mineurs) certification from the Ministère des solidarités et de la santé, earned in March 2010.
