David Ruddy

David worked in the motor industry for over 35 years, starting as an apprentice mechanical engineer and then holding various other roles culminating in several senior executive positions with multinational companies.

He has worked in the Further Education sector for 13 years and is the Executive Director of Strategic Growth and Partnerships at West Suffolk College where his prime role is to identify and cultivate partnerships with employers, partners, stakeholders and the community, building strong relationships by working together to achieve long term goals and objectives and ultimately ensuring the Colleges students are provided with the best tools and experiences to achieve their full potential and contribute to the region’s economy.

He is also Chair of Gateway Qualifications an Awarding Organisation in the credit-based learning sector.

David also holds several Non – Executive board roles working with external organisations and stakeholders advising and identifying strategic opportunities which allows the institutions and their partners to deliver their operational and strategic objectives.

David is a Member and Vice Chairman of Trustees and was a governor of Swavesey Village College 200-42014 where he held the role of Chair for 6 years.
