Kathleen Smith

Kathleen Smith, Ed.D., is an experienced school leader currently serving as the Principal of Cambridge Public Schools since July 2022. Prior to this role, Kathleen held the position of Principal at Lawrence Public Schools from July 2019 to June 2022 and at Newton Public Schools from July 2011 to June 2019. Kathleen began their administrative career as an Assistant Principal with Whitman-Hanson Regional School District from July 2009 to June 2011, following a tenure as an Elementary School Teacher at Hingham Public Schools from August 2004 to June 2009. Kathleen holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Boston College, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership from Fitchburg State University, a Master of Science in Education from Simmons University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UMass Boston.
