Dimitrios Kartsaklis

Head of Applied Quantum NLP Research at Cambridge Quantum Computing

Dimitrios Kartsaklis has a long and varied work experience. Starting in 1995, they worked as a Freelance Software Engineer and Translator/Editor. In 2003, they took on the role of Production Manager at Klidarithmos Publications. From 2007 to 2011, they were an Editor at Scientific American. During this time, they were also a Teaching Assistant and DPhil Student at the University of Oxford. In 2015, they became a Postdoctoral Researcher at Queen Mary University of London. In 2017, they were a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge. From 2018 to 2020, they were an NLP Research Scientist at Apple. Since 2020, they have been the Head of Applied Quantum NLP Research and Head of Quantum Language Modelling at Cambridge Quantum and Quantinuum, respectively.

Dimitrios Kartsaklis obtained a BSc(Hons) in Computer Science from The Open University in 2008, after studying there from 2003 to 2008. Dimitrios then went on to obtain an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from The University of Edinburgh in 2010, and a DPhil in Computer Science from the University of Oxford in 2014. In 2007, Kartsaklis also obtained a Sun Certified Programmer for the Java Platform certification from Sun Microsystems.
