Peter Phillips

Chief Executive & Board Member at Cambridge University Press

Peter Phillips is the current Chief Executive and Board Member at Cambridge University Press. Prior to this, they held various positions at The Publishers Association, Cambridge University Press & Assessment, and Nuffield Trust. From January 2008 to December 2014, they were a Board Member and Trustee at Nuffield Trust, where they provided evidence to help improve health policy. Peter was also a member of the Finance and Chairman's Committees. From January 2006 to December 2010, Phillips was a Board member and Partner at Ofcom, leading the organization's work in high speed broadband, public service broadcasting, net neutrality, peer-to-peer file-sharing and consumer switching. Peter was also responsible for Ofcom's strategy, technology, market research, consumer policy and chief economist teams. In addition, Phillips has served as a Board Trustee and Chair of Finance & Business Committee at Crafts Council from January 2004 to December 2011 and as a Finance Committee Member at Royal College of Physicians from January 2004 to December 2011. Peter began their career in 1993 as the Director of Business Development at BBC, where they worked until 2006.

Peter Phillips has a Fellow from Wolfson College at the University of Cambridge, an AMP from Harvard Business School, and a 1st class MA in Mathematics from the University of Oxford. Peter also went to Culford School.
