Steve Weis

VP of Development & Operating Partner at Cameron Mitchell Restaurants

Steve Weis brings to his role as vice president of development for Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR) nearly 30 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry. In this role, Weis focuses on new restaurant development, locating new restaurant sites, analyzing how to improve current locations, and overall expansion of the company.

Weis joined CMR in 2015, bringing to the team a vast knowledge of real estate and restaurant operations. He brings a specific expertise to the CMR executive team and is able to not only solve potential problems, but also help the company grow.

Prior to CMR, Weis most recently served as president of Max & Erma’s for nearly three years where he helped the company turnaround sales efforts. From 2004 to 2010, Weis was the regional vice president of Thomas & King, one of the largest franchise organizations for Applebee’s. He has owned a restaurant company, was senior vice president of operations for Jillian’s Entertainment, and has held restaurant leadership roles with KFC and Domino’s Pizza.

Weis enjoys the entrepreneurial spirit and forward-looking approach that the CMR culture encourages among all associates. This unique culture has allowed Weis to make such a significant impact on the growth and diversification of CMR, where he approaches every restaurant decision from a guest’s perspective asking questions, including: “How can they make this work best from a guest’s experience and for their associates? Will the guests like this location? From an operations perspective, does this concept provide a good return on investment?”

Weis currently serves on the board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus and previously served on the boards of the Greater Columbus Sports Commission and the Dream Factory of Greater Ohio.

Weis graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in public communication from The American University in Washington D.C.
