Rob Spencer

Rob Spencer is currently the CIO & CAO at Camp Construction Services. Prior to this, they were the Director of Information Technology at SpawGlass from June 2019 to January 2022. In this role, they led the enablement of business operation improvement and transformation through cross-functional leadership and teamwork, end-to-end technology, cybersecurity, and process optimization. Rob oversaw a staff of 2 managers and 9 specialists with a multi-million dollar budget.

During their time at SpawGlass, Rob developed an effective technology strategy designed to partner with and solve the challenges of the business, which resulted in him being sought out as a trusted advisor to achieve success in business initiatives. Rob also established a Digital Safety (cybersecurity) program that analyzed and adjusted the layers of protection to achieve optimum risk mitigation and led to higher levels of security awareness though an effective training program. Phishing clicks rates were reduced by 14% in the first year.

In addition, Rob sought to understand the technology challenges throughout the company and introduced new technology solutions which saved the company over 10,000 man hours in the first year. Rob also formed a Construction Technology Panel made up of front line team members with an objective of coming together to help understand and solve construction issues. One solution fostered through this group is projected to save over 100,000 man hours in the first 3 years.

Finally, Rob implemented LEAN IT principles for IT operations with a focus on voice of the customer, driving value, eliminating waste, and continuous improvement resulting in higher customer satisfaction, optimization of tasks performed through standard work, and a higher degree of project success. Rob also curated a development plan for each team member to identify individual staff strengths, their career ambitions, and opportunities to grow which cultivated a team performing at a high level and built on trust.

Rob Spencer attended Tecumseh High School and later received certification from (ISC)² in Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
