Brian A. Cowart

Brian A. Cowart was named Chief Development Officer for the 1.2 million-member DAV (Disabled American Veterans) in 2012. Brian is responsible for the oversight of all fundraising efforts of the DAV and affiliated organizations. He has lived across the United States, growing up in Illinois, New York, Washington, D.C., and Texas, finally settling in Atlanta, where he attended high school. After graduating, he enrolled at the University of Virginia at Charlottesville, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce in 1993. Brian’s fundraising career began in 1999. He comes to DAV from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee where he served as Senior Director of Mail Acquisition and Donor Retention and Senior Vice President of National Direct Marketing. Brian’s spouse Angela is a veteran of the Air Force Reserve, and they have three children.
