Research Scientist

Join the Adventure!

CAMP4 Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated, creative Research Scientist to join the Discovery & Translational team. Our team is focused on identifying new compounds to translate breakthrough discoveries in gene regulation into new medicines. The successful candidate will be a creative, flexible researcher with demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Title to commensurate with experience.

The team you will join

  • The Exploratory team is a subgroup within the Discovery and Translational team. We are tasked with screening new antisense oligonucleotides for biological activity and selecting leads for preclinical studies. We work closely with project teams, data scientists, and chemists as we push the boundaries of understanding regulatory RNAs.

Traits that we value include:

  • Humility: We don’t ‘walk past problems’ and are always eager to help one another. We succeed together for the patients relying upon us.

  • Curiosity: We are leveraging regulatory RNAs as a therapeutic modality so we are fearless in experiment design and execution and relentless in understanding our science.

  • Grit: There is no substitute for perseverance. Our screens can seem large and daunting but we commit to doing excellent science to generate robust data.

What you will do

  • As an integral part of the CAMP4’s Exploratory team, you will conduct experiments in primary human cells to identify novel compounds capable of controlling the expression of disease-causing genes

  • Develop, implement, and optimize cell- and tissue-based assays to gene expression with phenotype

  • Study impact of using different modalities on the regulation of disease-associated genes

  • Analyze data, help interpret results, and present to the team

  • Collaborate and share ideas with the rest of the team, and apply critical thinking to challenge the status quo

Who You Are

  • MS +4 years or BS +6 years of industry or relevant academic experience in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or related field

  • Experience with cell culture including primary cells or immortalized cell lines is required

  • Experience with molecular biology techniques including RNA isolation, qPCR; western blots, and ELISA is a plus

  • Prior experience with biochemical/enzymatic assays or oligonucleotide therapeutics is a plus

  • Familiarity with data processing and presentation using Microsoft Excel, GraphPad Prism, R or similar software is desirable

  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively

  • Attention to detail, good time management, good lab citizenship, and commitment to excellence in execution

  • Creativity, outside-the-box thinking, developing fit-for-purpose solution

  • Passionate about realizing the potential of fundamental scientific discoveries to improve patient's lives
