Cory Angell

Cory Angell currently serves as Captain of the Field Operations Division and SWAT Commander for the Campbell County Sheriff since December 2023, following a progressive career within the Campbell County Sheriff's Office that began in June 2013. Angell has held various roles including SRT/SWAT Team Leader, Senior Investigator, and School Resource Officer, showcasing a strong background in law enforcement. Additionally, experience includes a position as a State Trooper with the Virginia State Police from April 2017 to April 2018. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Radford University and ongoing participation in the Leadership Institute for Tomorrow’s Executives (LIFTE) Command College at Liberty University.
