Ed Wegel

Ed Wegel has had a diverse range of work experiences in the aviation industry. Ed is the Founder/Chairman and CEO of Global Crossing Airlines since August 2017. Prior to this, they founded and served as CEO of AVi8 Air Capital, a private equity/merchant bank firm focused on the airline and commercial aviation sectors since October 2016. In addition, Ed Wegel is the Founder/Chairman of AERO Tequila, a new tequila brand that will be sold on board aircraft and in airport duty free stores worldwide. Ed has also served as a Member of the Board of Advisors at Eve Air Mobility and as the Chairman of the Board at Talon 1 Acquisition Corp, a commercial aviation services sector company. Ed Wegel is also the Founder and former Chairman of Canada Jetlines. Ed has held positions such as Senior Strategic Advisor at Turning Rock Partners and Non-Executive Board Member at Next Level Aviation. Furthermore, Ed Wegel has a notable accomplishment as the Founder, President, and CEO of Eastern Air Lines, Inc., where they successfully relaunched the airline using the 737-800 fleet and negotiated agreements with Boeing and major leasing companies. Prior to that, they were the Managing Partner of Aviation Capital Partners Group, LLC, where they provided financing, advice, and expertise for various airline re-launches and restructuring efforts.
