Steven Scales has extensive work experience spanning several roles and companies. Steven began their career at Prolific Life & Pensions Limited as a Life Insurance Underwriter and later transitioned to a Compliance Consultant. Steven then joined Scottish Provident as an Assistant Compliance Manager and subsequently became a Compliance Manager. Steven moved on to Mazars UK, where they served as a Compliance Manager before being promoted to Director of Financial Services. Steven later joined an Independent Financial Services Consultancy as a Principal Consultant. At Saga plc., Steven held various positions, including Compliance Manager, Head of Financial Planning, Head of New Propositions, and eventually, Head of Strategy & Governance in the Financial Services division. Most recently, they have been working at Canada Life UK as the Head of Proposition and later as the Proposition Director, focused on Home Finance. Throughout their career, Steven has demonstrated expertise in compliance, risk management, policy frameworks, and strategic planning in the financial services industry.

Steven Scales obtained a Diploma in Financial Planning from the Chartered Insurance Institute from 1994 to 1996. Prior to that, from 1989 to 1990, they completed a Diploma in Medical Underwriting from the same institution. Steven also earned the designation of Chartered Insurer from the Chartered Insurance Institute from 1986 to 1989. Steven'ssecondary education was completed at Kendal Grammar School from 1979 to 1986.
