Sydney Oakes

Sydney Oakes currently serves as the Director of Indigenous Relations and Public Affairs at Canada Nickel Company, a position held since February 2024. Prior to this role, Sydney was the Principal Owner of Provoke Public Affairs from November 2019 to February 2024, and held the position of Director on the Board of Directors at Forests Ontario from March 2021 to May 2023. Sydney also served on the Board of Directors at the Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre from September 2019 to September 2022, and was the Strategic Partnerships Executive for Young Diplomats of Canada from March 2018 to April 2022. Additional experience includes a role as Senior Consultant for Indigenous Services and Government Relations at MNP, and Director of Policy and Provincial Affairs for Chiefs of Ontario. Sydney's extensive background in political consulting includes owning Political Consulting Solutions from July 2014 to December 2018. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Public Policy and Administration and a degree in Indigenous Futures from McMaster University, along with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science from Trent University.
