Mark Kenney joined Canadian Apartment Properties REIT (CAPREIT), a TSX-listed company, in 1998. CAPREIT’s portfolio consists of over 67,500 residential rental units and land lease sites across Canada, and the Netherlands. In addition, CAPREIT also manages properties in Ireland. With over 28 years of experience in the multi-family sector and as President and Chief Executive Officer, Mark is actively involved in creating and implementing company policy, directing the property management team, and oversight of the marketing, procurement, development, and acquisitions departments. Mark has ultimate responsibility for all of CAPREIT’s operations in Canada and Europe, including CAPREIT’s portfolio in the Netherlands and the Irish Residential Properties REIT portfolio in Ireland, which CAPREIT manages through its Irish subsidiary. Prior to joining CAPREIT, Mark held a senior position at Realstar Management Partnership, overseeing portfolios in Western Canada and Northern Ontario. Mark’s career includes leadership roles at Greenwin Property Management and Tridel where he managed various portfolios in the Greater Toronto Area. Mark is a board member and prior chair of the Federation of Rental-Housing Providers of Ontario, a board member of St. Hilda’s Towers, and was a founding board member of the GTAA. Mark holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Carleton University.
