Ellis Westwood

Director, Stakeholder Engagement at Canadian Blood Services

Ellis Westwood has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. In 2002, they worked as a Policy Advisor at the Canadian International Development Agency, providing policy advice on international development issues. From 2004 to 2006, they served as a Program Officer at the Institute On Governance. In 2006, they joined Ascentum as a Senior Consultant and later became the Director of Project Innovation. In 2009, they briefly served as Co-Chair of the Program Committee at the Canadian Conference for Dialogue and Deliberation. From 2012 to 2019, they worked at Hill+Knowlton Strategies, starting as an Account Director and eventually becoming the Vice President. In 2017, they took on the role of a Part-Time Professor at Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology. Currently, since September 2019, they are serving as the Director of Stakeholder Engagement at Canadian Blood Services, where they lead the organization's engagement practice with a wide range of stakeholders, designing and facilitating dialogues to inform decision-making.

Ellis Westwood holds a Graduate Certificate in Dialogue, Deliberation, and Public Engagement from Fielding Graduate University, which was completed from 2007 to 2008. Prior to that, they completed their MA in Public Policy at Carleton University from 2002 to 2004. Ellis'seducational journey began with a BA (Hons) in Politics and Philosophy from Queen's University, where they studied from 1997 to 2001.
