Emily Freeman, Ph.D., currently serves as Coordinator of Programs and Reporting at Canadian Blood Services, where responsibilities include planning and implementing training and funding programs and liaising with scientists and physicians for education and knowledge mobilization activities. Previously, Emily was a Biosafety Committee Representative and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at CHEO Research Institute, focusing on safety procedures for live virus research and developing IPSC models for myotonic dystrophy type 1. Additional roles included Biomedical Data Analyst at BenchSci, overseeing system audits, and teaching assistant at the University of Ottawa. Emily holds a Ph.D. and an MSc in Cellular and Molecular Medicine from the University of Ottawa and a BSc in Biology from Brock University.
