Adrian Brooks has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Currently, they are serving as the Project Lead, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) at the Canadian Cancer Society, where they are responsible for developing a strategic roadmap to foster an inclusive and equitable working culture. Prior to this role, Adrian worked as the Coordinator of Gift & Estate Administration at the Canadian Cancer Society and held the position of Joint Health & Safety Committee Worker Co-Chair. At the Canadian Cancer Society, they also worked as a Donor Care Associate, handling donations and providing training to new staff. Adrian's experience also includes working as an Online English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher and Private ESL Tutor at Brooks English and as a Primary Homeroom, Information Technology (IT) & Physical Education (PE) Teacher at Shanghai United International School. Earlier in their career, they worked at MY English School as a Senior English Teacher & Executive Assistant and at the YMCA of Greater Toronto in various roles, including Team Leader - Membership Sales & Service. Adrian's extensive background also includes working as a Fitness & Programs Specialist, Childcare Worker, and Facilities Maintenance Specialist at the YMCA. Adrian also briefly worked as a Membership Office Representative at the Ontario Science Centre. Overall, Adrian has demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting inclusivity and has gained experience in various educational, customer service, and leadership roles throughout their career.

Adrian Brooks completed a Bachelor of Health Studies with a specialization in Health Management from York University, from the years 2002 to 2008. In 2010 to 2012, they pursued a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Office Administration at Sheridan College. Adrian later obtained a Certificate in Project Management from the University of Toronto in 2019 to 2020. Currently, they are working towards a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, also at the University of Toronto, from 2021 to 2022.

In addition to their formal education, Adrian holds several certifications. These include "Supporting Workers with Disabilities," "Using Humor In Training to Engage Your Audience," "Writing Emails People Want to Read," and "Establishing a Well-Being Programme in Your Organisation," all obtained from LinkedIn. Adrian also has certifications such as "Giving and Receiving Feedback" from LinkedIn, "Joint Occupational Health & Safety Certification" from the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development, "Safety Awareness in 4 Steps" from the Ontario Ministry of Labour, and "Health Promotion Foundations" from Public Health Ontario.

Furthermore, Adrian has obtained certifications like "Emergency First Aid and CPR 'A'" from Abertay International Training Ltd, "Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Certification" from LoveTEFL, "Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)" from the Ontario Government, "WHMIS" from Ecolab Inc., "Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Responder" and "CPR 'C' Certification" from the Lifesaving Society, and the "YMCA Healthy Child Development Certificate" from the YMCA of Greater Toronto.
