Amaan Sayyad

Amaan Sayyad has a diverse range of work experience. Amaan worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant and Faculty of Science Mentor at the University of Alberta. Amaan also served as a Junior Representative at the Undergraduate Association of Computing Science and as a Resident Assistant, where they assisted students residing on campus and organized wellness programs.

Amaan was the Vice President Finance at NeurAlbertaTech, where they spearheaded financial strategy and negotiated contracts to enhance club resources. Amaan also worked as a Student Researcher at The New York Academy of Sciences, focusing on Vaccine Rollout projects.

Additionally, Amaan was a Beta Tester at Coursera, conducting user experience testing and providing feedback to optimize course designs. Amaan held leadership positions at the Canadian Cancer Society, serving as the Vice President of Recruitment and Director of Recruitment Operations, where they directed recruitment strategies and implemented innovative outreach initiatives.

Amaan also worked at QS ImpACT as a Community Engagement and Council Associate, designing engagement strategies and implementing UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Amaan was a Senior Environmental Initiatives Captain and conducted research in Physics at Delhi Public School, Navi Mumbai. Lastly, Amaan worked as a Summer Student at the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing under the Indian Space Research Organization.

Amaan Sayyad attended the University of Alberta from 2022 to 2026, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Honors. In July 2023, they earned several certifications, including Microsoft Azure Management Tools and Security Solutions, Introduction to Microsoft Azure Cloud Services, Microsoft Azure Services and Lifecycles, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals. Additionally, in March 2023, they obtained a CPR/AED/First Aid certification and an Emerging Leaders Program Certificate from the University of Alberta Students' Union.
