Nevada Elijah-Camelo

Coordinator, Human Resources at Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business

Nevada Elijah-Camelo “Yakolhalé” is of Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabeg heritage and is Wolf Clan. Nevada’s career aspirations are to become a certified human resource professional as a way of supporting Indigenous vision, entrepreneurship, business, and inclusion in Canada’s economy. She currently holds a Business – Human Resources Diploma from Fanshawe College.

Nevada’s love for the outdoors and canoeing led her on an Indigenous leadership adventure to British Columbia in 2019 with Outward Bound Canada. One of Nevada’s favourite seasonal hobbies is collecting maple sugar with her grandparents and sharing it with family and friends. She is also especially fond of camping and hiking in Algonquin Park and Manitoulin Island. Expressing her creativity with custom pop-art inspired styles of painting is important to Nevada.

She is excited to join CCAB and contributing to the support and inclusion of Indigenous businesses within the Canadian economy.
