Donny Li

Donny Li serves as the Associate Director of Government Affairs for the Canadian Federation of Medical Students since July 2025, supporting the work of the portfolio alongside the Portfolio Director. Currently, Donny is also the President of the McMaster Medical Student Council, responsible for representing the medical student body and organizing various academic and non-academic events. In addition to the leadership roles, Donny conducts original research as the Research Lead at William Osler Health System in collaboration with the Medical Director of Palliative Care. Previous experiences include significant roles in the Air Cadet League of Canada, where Donny held positions ranging from Civilian Instructor to Chief Commander, as well as involvement as a Board Director for Race To A Cure, where oversight of a volunteer team focuses on youth-targeted scientific initiatives. Donny founded and chaired AlumNav, fostering scientific and social research among students across multiple countries. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from McMaster University, pursuing studies from August 2023 and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences completed in 2023.
