Deborah Fallows

Chief Human Resources Officer at Canadian Film Centre

Deborah Fallows is the Chief Human Resources Officer at the CFC whose scope of responsibility includes Human Resources, IT and Operations. Known throughout the entertainment industry as a leader in identifying and managing top talent, her 18 years of experience has contributed to the effective growth and development of several entertainment organizations in Canada.

Prior to joining the CFC, Fallows was the Vice-President of Human Resources at Cookie Jar Entertainment Inc. (acquired by DHX Media in 2013), a leading independent producer of children’s entertainment, consumer products and educational materials. She has led several transitions of people and operations resulting from global acquisitions and contributed to building a successful company in a short period of time.

Prior to working with Cookie Jar Entertainment, Fallows was the Director of Recruiting for both Nelvana and Corus Entertainment. Through her extensive knowledge of labour laws and best practices, she has hired and developed exceptional talent while building HR plans that align with business needs.

Fallows earned her CHRP designation and completed the Executive Human Resources Program through Joseph L. Rotman, University of Toronto, and is currently Chair of the Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design, Alumni Board, Sheridan College.
