Mélanie Josée Davidson oversees the portfolio involving health system performance measurement at CIHI. This includes the production of health indicators for use by the Canadian public, health care facilities, health regions and governments. It also includes the research and development of new indicators, the measurement of patient experiences of acute care, and capacity-building activities to support the uptake of evidence in decision-making.
Previously, Ms. Davidson was manager of the president and CEO’s office at CIHI. Over the years, she has participated in the establishment of many of CIHI’s new strategic initiatives. Most recently, this has included leading CIHI’s contributions to the federal, provincial and territorial work on shared health priorities related to mental health and addictions, and to home and community care. Her experience in research and analysis complements her extensive knowledge of health care data, and her ability to develop and maintain strong external relationships.
Ms. Davidson earned a graduate degree in the social sciences from Queen’s University and has completed graduate training in project management.
