Emily Xu is a seasoned policy advisor currently serving on the Zoonoses and Horizontal Policy Team at the Public Health Agency of Canada since October 2021. With a strong background in health research policy, Emily has been a policy analyst at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research since April 2016, where responsibilities include developing funding policies and supporting research knowledge translation and ethics. Previously, Emily worked as a laboratory technician at Health Canada from May 2014 to April 2016, focusing on potency testing of viral vaccines, and as a researcher at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario from January 2013 to January 2014, conducting gene screening and molecular biology studies. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Physiology from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Prince Edward Island.
