Maria Armstrong is the Vice-Chair at Canadian Media Producers Association. Maria has previously worked as a Modern Apps Solutions Executive- Tanzu at VMware and a Named Accounts Territory Manager at Connection.

Maria has always been interested in the media industry. Maria started their career as a intern at a local news station. After they graduated from college, they got a job as a production assistant at a small production company. Maria eventually worked their way up to producer and then Vice President of Production.

In 2018, Maria left their position as Vice President of Production to become a Named Accounts Territory Manager at Connection. In this role, they were responsible for growing and maintaining senior management and C level relationships within the accounts they supported. In 2019, they left Connection to join VMware as a Modern Apps Solutions Executive- Tanzu. In this role, they were responsible for helping organizations break down their monolithic applications into microservices.

In 2020, Maria was elected as the Vice-Chair at Canadian Media Producers Association. In this role, they are responsible for representing the interests of Canada’s independent production sector and working with government to develop policies that support the industry.

Maria Armstrong has a Bachelor of Science in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Franklin Pierce University. Maria also has a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and Business Management from Franklin Pierce University. Maria is certified from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
