Tayyab Butt

Tayyab Butt, MS, P.Eng., is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in instrumentation and controls within the oil and gas sector. Currently serving as a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) since 2017, Tayyab leads instrumentation support for high-volume plant operations and develops control systems standards to enhance performance. Previously, as a PACO Engineer at Shell from 2011 to 2017, Tayyab provided instrumentation and control solutions while ensuring policy compliance. Early career experience includes a role as a Research Assistant at the University of Calgary and as Design & Application Lead at Intech Process Automation, where Tayyab successfully led major initiatives at a super-giant oil field. Tayyab holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary.
