Steven Sherwood

Director, Information Technology at Canadian Opera Company

Steven Sherwood has extensive experience in both information technology and professional singing. Currently serving as the Director of Information Technology at the Canadian Opera Company since January 2007, Steven initially joined as a consultant during the opening of the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts and has progressively taken on greater responsibilities within the IT group. Prior to this role, Steven was an operatic tenor from September 1994 to December 2008, performing on prominent stages across Canada, the United States, and Europe, and collaborating with esteemed institutions such as the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and Opéra de Montréal. Additionally, Steven was a Principal Consultant at SPS Consulting, where services were provided to a diverse range of business clients, and served as a Technology Consultant at McGill University during the establishment of the Schulich School of Music. Steven holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Operatic Performance from the University of Toronto and degrees in Voice Performance from McGill University and Mount Royal University.
