Naina Lavakare

Naina Lavakare is currently a designer at Canal. Naina has previously worked as a user experience researcher for Amazon Alexa at Columbia University and as a design consultant/extern at HEVO.

Naina has a background in ethnographic research and has conducted interviews with members of the Department of Transport, EV owners, policy experts and energy policy startups. Naina has also visited HEVO's office to understand the existing technology and challenge, observed EV charging stations to observe user pain points, needs and wants.

Naina has used their design skills to create a stakeholder map and reframe the challenge, prototyped in lo-fidelity and collected feedback from users and client, implemented feedback and built a high fidelity mockup for the client. Naina has also handed off final deliverables to clients with a strategy for implementation.

Naina Lavakare has a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University and an Exchange Student from Università Bocconi in Product Innovation and Business Strategy. Naina also has an International Baccalaureate from The British School in New Delhi. For their Bachelor of Arts, they majored in Sociology and Psychology from Barnard College. Naina is also certified from IDEO.org in Human Centered Design, Udemy in Adobe XD, LinkedIn Certification in UX Research: Lean Experimentation, IBM in Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner, LinkedIn in Figma for UX Design, and HubSpot Academy Inbound Certified.

They are on a team with and Yanni Davros - Design. Their manager is Katherine Davis, Founding Product Designer.
