Director, NREN Cybersecurity Services at CANARIE

Julie Menzies has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Julie is currently working as the Director of NREN Cybersecurity Services at CANARIE since June 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of NREN Program at CANARIE from April 2022 to August 2022. Before joining CANARIE, Julie worked as a Program Manager for the National Research and Education Network (NREN) from February 2020 to April 2022. Julie also served as an Information Systems Assistant from April 2004 to April 2005.

Earlier in their career, Julie worked as a Software Sales Representative at Impatica in 2003 and as a Systems Analyst at Uxilium Solutions from June 2002 to January 2003. Julie also gained experience as a CSG Global Technical Support at Nortel Networks from September 2000 to January 2001.

Julie Menzies has a degree in Public Service Studies from Carleton University. Julie also holds a Masters Certificate in Business Analysis from the Sprott School of Business, which they obtained in 2007. In 2015, they completed a Business Process Management Professional Certificate from the same school. Additionally, Julie has a certification as a Certified Business Analysis Professional™ from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), obtained in 2015. Julie also attended the Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, where they studied Information Systems.
