Alycia Garcia, M.Ed. is a professional with extensive experience in educational roles and project leadership. Currently serving as the Special Projects Team Lead at CanAssist at the University of Victoria since February 2023, Alycia previously held the position of Instructional Material Designer at the University of Victoria from September 2022 to July 2023. Prior to this, Alycia worked as a Teacher at Peoria Unified School District from July 2017 to June 2022 and served as a University Policy Researcher at the University of Victoria between September 2021 and April 2022. Additionally, Alycia was an English Second Language Instructor with VIPKid from June 2018 to October 2021. Alycia holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Teaching and a Master of Education from Northern Arizona University, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Studies at the University of Victoria.

CanAssist at the University of Victoria is dedicated to helping people with disabilities improve their quality of life, with a focus on promoting independence and inclusion. Our talented team develops innovative technologies and programs where there are gaps in existing services.
