Joel Krikston has extensive experience in venture capital investments, strategic innovation alliances, and board roles. Joel began their career in 2013 as the Managing Director Venture Investments for Merck Global Health Innovation Fund, where they led venture capital investments for Merck's Global Health Innovation Fund with a focus on breakthrough health care innovations utilizing data as a currency. Joel also served as the Head of Strategic Innovation Alliances, where they translated Merck business unit digital needs into high value projects leveraging the capabilities of GHI Fund portfolio companies. In 2016, they joined Arcadia Healthcare Solutions as a Board Director, where they helped organizations succeed in value-based care. In 2018, they were a Guest Lecturer at Princeton University and in 2020, they became a Venture Mentor at NYU Stern School of Business. In 2021, they became an Investor at Unite Us and in 2020, they held Board Observer roles at RxVantage and GNS Healthcare. Joel is currently a Board Director at Infectious Disease Connect and a Board Observer at Verana Health.

Joel Krikston obtained their General Studies High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates from Mount Lebanon High School from 1984 to 1988. Joel then attended Fairfield University from 1988 to 1992, graduating with a BS in Finance and International Business. After that, they attended the NYU Stern School of Business from 1997 to 1999, graduating with an MBA in Finance. In 2016, they completed the Merck Emerging Leaders Program at Harvard Business School and the Leadership Development Program at Eckerd College. In 2018, they obtained a Certificate in Leadership Strategies for Information Technology in Health Care from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. In 2019, they completed the Essential IT for Non-IT Executives program at MIT Sloan Executive Education. Finally, in 2021 they obtained a Certificate in Applied Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Joel also holds a Series 7 (not active) certification.
