Melissa Lewis-Brown

Melissa Lewis-Brown is an accomplished professional in the field of research and data strategy, currently serving as the Head of Research Data Strategy at Cancer Research UK since September 2021. Prior to this role, Melissa held the position of Chief Science Strategy Officer at Health Data Research UK from November 2018 to September 2021, and also worked as a Science Manager. Melissa's earlier experience includes serving as Biomedical Grants Manager at The Academy of Medical Sciences and as a Science Portfolio Adviser at Wellcome Trust. Melissa's career began at the Natural Environment Research Council, where roles included Senior Science Programmes Officer and Science Programmes Officer. Melissa holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Genetics from the University of Nottingham and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biology/Biological Sciences from the University of Bristol.
