Nikhil Pooviah's work experience includes various roles in the medical and healthcare industry. Nikhil started their career as a Resident Medical Officer at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital from 2009 to 2013. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a Radiation Oncology Registrar at the same hospital. In 2014, they joined Chris O'Brien Lifehouse as a Radiation Oncology Physician until 2016.

After that, Nikhil took on entrepreneurial ventures in the healthcare field. Nikhil co-founded CancerAid in 2015 and then went on to co-found Elly in 2019. In 2021, they became a Venture Partner at Black Nova Venture Capital.

Currently, Nikhil is working as a Digital Innovation Strategy Manager at Moffitt Cancer Center since February 2023.

Nikhil Pooviah completed their high school education at James Ruse Agricultural High School from 1999 to 2004, earning a High School Degree. Nikhil then pursued their higher education at the University of Melbourne, where they obtained a Bachelor of Medical Science from 2007 to 2008. Continuing their studies, Nikhil completed a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) degree at the University of Melbourne from 2005 to 2009.
