Jimmy Alfthan has a long and varied work experience, beginning with a Machine Operator role at Pitney Bowes in 2006. In 2012, they worked on a Bachelor thesis at Nordic Gym. In 2013, they began working at Volvo Construction Equipment as a Mechanical Engineer and Master Thesis Project at the department of Emerging Technologies. From 2014 to 2016, they worked as a Technical Consultant at ÅF and Sigma Industry. Since 2016, they have been a Design Engineer (Consultant) at Scania Group. In 2022, they began working as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Candela | Electric Hydrofoil Boats.

Jimmy Alfthan began their educational journey in 2006 when they attended Rinmangymnasiet and completed a high school program in technology. Jimmy then moved on to Mälardalen University, where they completed a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Product and Process Development in 2012. Jimmy continued their studies at Mälardalen University, graduating with a Master's degree in Engineering, Product and Process Development in 2014. That same year, they also attended Inholland university of applied science in Holland Rotterdam, where they studied Design management, Visual communication and knowledge building.
