Tom Slaven

Tom Slaven is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching various sciences at multiple academic institutions. Currently serving as a Chemistry Teacher at Canfield Local Schools since August 2015, Tom also holds the position of Adjunct Professor at Youngstown State University since September 2010, where Tom instructs chemistry and biology courses. Previously, Tom served as an Adjunct Professor at Mercy College of Ohio from September 2012 to August 2021, teaching Microbiology and Anatomy and Physiology. With extensive experience as a Biotechnology instructor and Science Liaison at the Mahoning County Career & Technical Center and Eastern Gateway Community College, Tom has demonstrated a commitment to science education across different settings. Tom's educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Education Administration from Youngstown State University and degrees in Biology and Combined Science from the same institution, along with graduate studies in Molecular and Cellular Biology at The Ohio State University.
