Charl Van Rensburg is currently the VP of Medical and Recreational Sales at CannTrust. Prior to joining CannTrust, Charl was the Provincial Sales Manager at Brown-Forman from June 2016 to February 2018. Before that, Charl was the Area Sales Manager at Molson Coors from January 2011 to March 2016. In this role, Charl led, coached and mentored a highly functional and focused team of 5 Field Sales Managers, 27 Sales Representatives and support staff. Charl was also responsible for managing an annual operations and Trade budget of $8.5 million - coming in under budget by 0.5% in 2015.
At Molson Coors, Charl was successful in identifying market opportunities and developing actionable strategies that yield results. Charl also excelled in leading numerous strategic brand initiatives that exceed targets, consumer and customer expectations (New Castle & Strongbow Gold – 150 new points of distribution each & Coors Light Football - consumer based volumetric program). In addition, Charl led the National financial process improvement initiative that improved financial analysis at all levels, delivered significant cost savings ($250K annually in Ontario & Western Canada) and alleviated administration tasks for all customer facing personal. Charl was also successful in leading the route to market change process to Field Sales Management.
Charl Van Rensburg's educational background is in marketing management, which they studied at the Schulich School of Business at York University.
