Marcus Christie has been working in the healthcare industry since 2006. Marcus began their career as a Personal Care Assistant for various organisations, where they assisted residents with daily living, developed strategies for dealing with difficult behaviours, and helped prepare the facility for accreditation. From 2015 to 2018, they worked as an Aged Care Educator and Assessor for Seed Education, where they provided classroom education for personal care attendant students and on-the-job training and assessment. Since 2018, they have been working as a Registered Nurse at Austin Health. Most recently, in 2019, they began working as a Medical Cannabis Nurse Consultant for Cannvalate Pty Ltd.
Marcus Christie began their educational journey at Trinity Grammar School, Kew, where they earned their VCE from 2001 to 2004. Marcus then attended James Cook University from 2008 to pursue a Bachelor of Biomedical Science in Biomedical Sciences, General. In 2013, Marcus Christie enrolled at Australian Catholic University and completed a Bachelor of Nursing in 2017. During their studies, they also obtained a Certificate IV Training and Assessment from Melbourne Polytechnic in December 2015. In 2017, Marcus Christie attended CANN10 AUSTRALIA for the Medicinal Cannabis Leadership Program 2017. Marcus then completed a Graduate Nurse Program at Austin Health from 2018 to 2019. Additionally, they hold a Certificate III in Aged Care from ETEA.
