Tony Espy is a seasoned technical architect with over 25 years of experience in software engineering and IoT solutions. Currently serving as the Technical Architect for Devices & IoT at Canonical Ltd., Tony leads the Ubuntu Core project for Dell's IoT Gateways, collaborating with commercial hardware teams to enable innovative device solutions. Previously, Tony contributed to Ubuntu Engineering as a Senior Software Engineer, designing critical network and telephony functionalities. Additionally, Tony was actively involved with EdgeX Foundry, where roles included Technical Steering Committee Member and Working Group Chair for Device Services & SDK, shaping major technical decisions within the open-source IoT framework. Earlier experience includes significant roles at Pepper Computer, Open Market, and Stratus Computer, complemented by a BA in Computer Science from Northeastern University.
