Betsy Popek

Betsy Popek has worked in the field of design and development since 2007. Betsy began their career as a Catalog Designer at Keepsake Quilting, Inc. From 2011 to 2014, they worked as a Freelance Graphic Designer at Carus Publishing. Betsy then worked as a Graphic Designer at J&A Marketing from 2014 to 2020. In 2020, they worked as a Frontend Developer at both XANT and Modern Signal, where they were responsible for creating responsive web pages using HTML5, CSS/Sass, JavaScript and Bootstrap, coordinating with project managers to ensure web pages met specifications and matched provided designs and functionality. Currently, Betsy is working as a Frontend Developer at Canopy.

Betsy Popek obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2004. In 2017, they completed a UX Design Workshop from Springboard and earned certifications from Lynda.com in UX Design, Content Strategy, Design Research, Creating Personas, Creating Scenarios and Storyboards, Making the Case for Usability Testing, Prototyping, and Usability Testing. In 2020, they earned certifications from LinkedIn in Advanced WordPress: Action and Filter Hooks, React: Testing and Debugging, Version Control for Everyone, WordPress 5 Essential Training, and WordPress 5 Essential Training: Site Administration. In 2021, they earned certifications from LinkedIn in JavaScript: Patterns and Learning RxJS. In 2019, they attended V School for Full Stack JavaScript.
