Tahir Farooqui

Tahir Farooqui is the Founder and CEO of SMARTLAYER.AI, a platform business that aims to impact the financial lives of renters. With the support of a great team and investors, they successfully built Canopy, an ecosystem for renters that provides tools and services to improve their financial health. Tahir also served as a Non-Executive Director at Canopy and raised £13 million in seed capital. Tahir has experience as a Strategic Advisor at Fluffy and a Start-up Advisor at beta. Additionally, Tahir has served on the Advisory Board of FUNGI BIOTICS and as an Advisor at Mistho. Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, they held positions at KPMG UK as an Associate Director and at KPMG as a Senior Manager in Group Strategy. Tahir's previous roles also include serving as the Chief Executive Officer (Temp) at Azan Trading L.L.C and as a Senior Vice President in Global Operations Strategy at Nomura.

Tahir Farooqui pursued a Master of Business Administration degree at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 2011 to 2013. During this time, they specialized in entrepreneurship/entrepreneurial studies, strategy, and finance.
