Cantare
Tracy Grant currently serves as the Executive Director of Cantare since January 2025, while maintaining a long-standing freelance career that began in May 1988, offering editing, copy editing, proofreading, and marketing support services to writers. Tracy has held various roles as a nonprofit development and marketing consultant for organizations like San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music and The Food Pantry, where responsibilities included writing proposals, marketing materials, and funding research. With extensive experience at the Merola Opera Program from February 2000 to January 2025, Tracy held positions such as Director of Institutional and Individual Giving and Director of Foundation, Corporate and Government Relations, focusing on fundraising and donor engagement. An accomplished author, Tracy has written eight historical novels and collaborated with Joan Grant on four novellas. Tracy earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Stanford University in 1988.

Cantare
Cantare serves over 2,650 children in the Oakland Unified School District through our classroom music, after-school choirs, multi-lingual music program and annual Summer Music Camp. All programs are tuition-free! We also have 3 adult choirs: 100-voice Chorale which presents 3 concerts a year, 26-voice Chamber Ensemble, and Summer Choir which is a non-auditioned and performs annually in July. Cantare was founded by Artistic Director David Morales in 1987.
