Michelle Moubarak's work experience begins in 2003 as an Archivist at the Animation Research Centre. In 2006, they become the Festival Director at Canterbury Anifest. In 2010, they take on the role of Co- South East Regional Coordinator at Arts Development UK. Also in 2010, they start working at Canterbury City Council, initially as the Cultural & Creative Development Manager until 2014. From 2014 to 2018, they serve as the Development Manager, where they focus on external development and internal business development. Later, from 2018 to 2019, they become the Commercial and Cultural Development Manager. In 2019, they are promoted to the position of Museums & Cultural Programme Director, responsible for leading the Museums and External Development teams. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Culture, Leisure & External Development/Canterbury Museums and Galleries Director at Canterbury City Council.
Michelle Moubarak's education history includes obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Animation from Surrey Institute of Art and Design, which they attended from 2001 to 2004. Michelle then pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Animation at University for the Creative Arts from 2004 to 2006. Most recently, Michelle enrolled in the University of Leicester, where they are currently pursuing a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Museology/Museum Studies, expected to be completed in 2023.
