Anna Arns

Senior Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist (srt/sabr Lead Romp) at Canterbury District Health Board

Anna Arns has a diverse work experience in the medical physics field. Anna started their career in 2010 at the Department of Radiation Oncology, University Medical Center Mannheim, where they worked as a Physicist/Medical Physicist until 2018. During their time there, they gained significant expertise in radiation oncology. In 2011, they also took on a role as a Programme Coordinator/Academic Advisor at the Medical Faculty Mannheim, University of Heidelberg, which lasted until 2014. Anna Arns is currently serving as a Senior Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist (SRT/SABR Lead ROMP) at Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury, a position they have held since September 2018.

Anna Arns started their education at St. Franziskus Gymnasium in Olpe, Germany from 1994 to 2003, where they obtained their Abitur (German University Entrance Diploma). Anna then proceeded to Heidelberg University from 2003 to 2010, completing their Diplom in Physics. During this time, they also attended Duke University in 2008 as a Visiting Student in Medical Physics. Anna continued their studies at Heidelberg University from 2007 to 2008, earning a Master of Science (MSc) in Medical Physics with distinction in Radiation Therapy and Biomedical Optics. Later, in 2010, they obtained a Dr. sc. hum. (PhD) in Medical Physics and Human Science from Heidelberg University. Additionally, in 2010 and 2011, they pursued the certification of a Certified Medical Physics Expert at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau.
