John Garey has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and brand management. John has held various leadership positions at companies such as Cantrex Nationwide, Whirlpool Corporation, Colgate-Palmolive, Nabisco, and Cadbury Adams. Some highlights of their career include leading a Canadian team at Cantrex Nationwide and being responsible for the strategic direction and budgeting for the Appliance Business Unit. At Whirlpool Corporation, they served as the Director for various brands and product categories, overseeing brand positioning, new product development, and integrated marketing campaigns. Prior to that, they worked at Colgate-Palmolive, where they managed trade strategies and business development for Mass, Club, and Drug Trade channels, and successfully increased sales and reduced trade spend. Overall, John Garey has demonstrated expertise in driving revenue growth, improving market penetration, and developing strategic brand and marketing strategies.
John Garey has a strong educational background in business and marketing. John first attended the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University from 1987 to 1991, where they earned an Honors BBA with a focus on Marketing and Finance. Later, in 2018, they pursued further education at the University of Toronto, where they studied Advanced Digital Marketing Management and completed their studies by the following year. Most recently, in 2022, they attended the University of Toronto again to pursue a program focused on Maximizing Customer Lifetime Value.
