Michael Walter, Jr. has a diverse work experience spanning over two companies. Michael started their career at Lincoln Financial Advisors in 2005 as a Financial Planner. In 2006, they joined Canusa Corporation as a Risk Manager, where they were responsible for various aspects of risk mitigation and management. Michael managed trade credit for the Canusa Paper & Packaging division and oversaw the company's property and casualty insurance programs. Michael also created and implemented strategies, policies, and procedures to identify and control risks. In 2011, they took on the role of General Counsel at Canusa Corporation, providing legal advice and managing all litigation as needed. In December 2021, they transitioned to Canusa Hershman Recycling, LLC as the Chief Operating Officer, while still serving as General Counsel. In this role, they advise senior management on legal issues and risks, negotiates and reviews agreements related to business formation, real property, mergers and acquisitions, employment, and general commercial transactions. Overall, they have demonstrated their expertise in risk management, legal counsel, and operational leadership throughout their career.

Michael Walter, Jr. has a strong educational background in law and business. Michael obtained their Juris Doctorate with a Business Law Concentration from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce & Engineering with a Finance Concentration from Drexel University. Michael attended Drexel University from 2000 to 2005. Before starting college, Michael completed their high school education at Loyola Blakefield from 1997 to 2000. In addition to their academic qualifications, Michael is a certified member of the Maryland State Bar Association, having obtained their certification in December 2011 from THE MARYLAND STATE BAR ASSOCIATION, INC.
